Happy Birthday with Dick and Jane
I get a night out with adults only tonight! I'm going to a birthday party for some friends who are reaching one of those milestone birthdays (you know, after 49 but before 51). I thought it would be fun to make birthday cards using some of the illustrations from this Dick and Jane book. I used some vintage lace and ricrac to embellish the cards.
The Dick and Jane series were the books I learned to read with in my early years. Do you remember any of your earliest reads?
These cards were fun to make, and I'm thinking of making more to put in my Etsy shop.
i can remember reading dick and jane books as well. even as a child i enjoyed the cadence of the books. see dick run. see jane fall. loved it!

i LOVE these cards laura!! and, since i happen to fall in the same birthday category as your friend, these give me a wonderful feeling of nostalgia! i can remember sitting in my mom's lap reading these books...what great memories! and, yes...they'd look great in your etsy shop! :)
