Thread Transition Time!

I may never run out of thread again! I'm finally making the switch to using thread cones instead of spools, and just picked up this order of thread from my local sewing supplier.

To give you an idea of what this means, here's a comparison with the largest spools I was buying before:

The one on the left holds 1000m and the cone holds 6000m, yet the price of the one on the left is not much less (at my local fabric store) than the cone (through the sewing supplier). I wish I would have known this a few years ago! One drawback will definitely be storage, so I'll have to figure something out yet for that. I've pinned a few storaage ideas to my Pinterest board "Dream Studio," but if you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them!

The only difference in using it in my machine is that it has to sit beside my machine with a thread holder instead of in the spool spot in my machine.

Now if only there was a way to not have to replace the bobbin as often!
