Ancient Map Journals
This week I'm officially launching a new product line in my PrairiePeasant etsy shop.
It all started with this box of rescued art papers....
...previously owned by a card maker perhaps? They were all lovely art papers in a card stock weight, many folded in half already. Since there wasn't enough of any one paper to make one homogenous text block for a book, I decided just to mix them all up: lovely neutrals with a few darker pages thrown in.
I had been wanting to do something with some books of ancient maps that I'd been saving, so here was the perfect match: the ancient maps with the neutral papers. Lovely.
I'm gradually getting them listed on Etsy, and they can be found in my Map Travel Journals section in my PrairiePeasant Shop. There's such a variety with these maps, I'm loving each one!
I agree - they are lovely! I'm tempted to buy one... just to gloat over and look at, you understand... (which would be sad, actually, because books should be Used!). I love how you have combined these two things into such beautiful books.
ReplyDeleteYours admiringly...
Please do Lizzie! I have numerous books made by other book artists too that I just can't seem to use yet!
DeleteMy sketchbook (bought from Erica!) is running out... I think I need another... maybe I should buy one!
Deletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruth, my fellow map appreciator!
DeleteThose look lovely! I like what I've seen you post on etsy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea! I have a few more left to bind, but other things keep getting in the way.
