Quilt Finish!

I've finished the Disappearing 9 Patch quilt for my youngest daughter, C. You can see her happy eyes peering over the top on the left side! This quilt was a real scrappy project, with fabrics from my quilting group, my fabric stash, thrifted fabrics and old clothes, plus new fabrics for the backing, border and binding.

Here's the finished back, using strips of many of the fabrics used on the front in randomly strip pieced stripes:

We're very happy with how this quilt turned out, and very thankful to have found another machine quilter locally after Laila, who quilted this one, moved away. We had Donna Reznik from Inthreadible Quilting quilt this one, and she was lovely to work with. Her machine is entirely computerized, so we poured over loads of designs on her computer before choosing a nice swirly pattern and red thread. Here's a detail of the beautiful machine quilting:

Thanks so much to all my quilting friends who so generously shared their fabrics for this quilt!

I'm linking up to The Needle & Thread Network. Come see what other Canadian stitchers are up to:

  1. Totally love the scrappiness! I love the swirly design too. Isn't it amazing what two simple strips of colour on the white backside will do? Great work!
