Crafty Minions Wrap-Up

Yesterday was the Crafty Minions sale--the last one at the current location of Aqua Books. I was very happy to be a part of this sale as I think my stuff fits in with this group of vendors and attendees very well. It was a fun day, if a little slow. My two daughters volunteered to help out for the day, I met lots of fellow WEST members and other great crafters, shared a studio with Ruth from Periwinkle Dzyns and had time to do a little shopping for myself.

We had a room (the size of a small bedroom) to set up as we pleased. There was a desk, a small bookshelf and an upholstered chair in the room, plus a table for each of us. Ruth brought another table, which we shared, so there was lots of space to set up. I didn't take many photos, but here's what my displays looked like:

I had my books and paper goods on one table--daughter S set up most of this display. I liked having the bookshelf up on the table to display more books--and since it was against the wall in the corner, it didn't block anything behind it.

Here's daughter C setting up my coiled mats and bowls across the room. The light from the window was bright, and it was hard to get a photo with balanced lighting.

The next sale I'll be at will be the Manitoba Crafts Museum and Library's Artisans Market on April 21 and 22, but more details on that later.

  1. It looks like you had plenty of room; your book display was lovely - and the mats/bowls were coming along well when you took the photo - your daughters deserve congratulations!
Sounds like a lovely day - hope you made some good sales / got some new customers too.

  2. Thanks Lizzie! I think the best result of the day was establishing a connection with this group of indie crafters and being seen there. Hopefully more sales will follow.
