Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! I hope you are having a wonderful day celebrating the joys of motherhood.

Here are a couple of things I've been helping my kids with this weekend:

Daughter C just loves her high-tops and the colour orange. When she decided she wanted orange shoelaces, this diy mom thought "we could dye them ourselves!" We used thinned acrylic paints and soaked the laces in the paint. After they drip dried, I heat set them with an iron. Somewhere along the way she decided that she wanted one green as well. Aren't they fun?

Daughter S has been learning to use Photoshop on her own to help with some of her homework assignments. While I am not an expert, I am able to walk her through various techniques to achieve what she wants to do. This image is from a magazine she had to create for her English class (due tomorrow!). Pretty soon her skills will surpass mine, and I'll be going to her for help!

  1. Happy Mother's Day sweetie!

Awesome shoe laces. I remember my mom making me fluorescent pink shoe laces in the 1980s. I'm sure your daughter will love that her mom is so crafty! :D
