Busy week

I am so ready for a relaxing weekend! This week was busy as I started and completed a custom order for 25 beaded two-section notebooks and 25 matchbook notebooks. The order was only confirmed on Monday, and was ideally to be completed by today, Friday. Luckily my evenings weren't too busy this week, and I could devote my time after work to this project.

Taking an order like this gives a great sense of satisfaction, but its also a great learning experience. What did I learn?
1. How to work efficiently in an assembly line fashion
2. There are certain tools that I could not manage without, like my Scor-it Board and my paper cutter
3. Make extra as I'm likely to mess up at least one along the way
4. Have fun with colour combinations
5. I can get a lot more done if I have a deadline
6. Don't be afraid to take on a new challenge
7. Not to feel guilty about my supply stash--I didn't have to run to the store before diving in to this project!

It was a good feeling to be able to hand these over to my local buyer today. I was able to meet the deadline and she was very pleased with the results.

Now I'll have to make a few more for my shop.....

  1. Love these! They look so beautiful all fanned out like this. Congrats!

  2. congratulations on completing such a large order in such a short amount of time...especially since so much of your day is already spoken for! these books look beautifully made and very colorful! :)

  3. Congrats!! I love all of them: the colors combination are fantastic as the detail of the glass seed beads! =)

  4. oh my, what an absolutely gorgeous array of journals! i love the patterns and colors. congrats on the big order and meeting the deadline. i'm sure these would sell very well in your etsy shop!! have a great weekend.

  5. very fun spread out like that. what are they intended for? also, deadlines are the only thing that motivate me -- it's a bit embarrassing but true. and I found a little surprise for you at the Barnswallow show -- either to enjoy as is or to repurpose. I can bring it on Sunday.

  6. I love how you photographed the journals... makes me wish I didn't just give away all of my card stock to my scrapbooking friends! might have to go get some back!

  7. Thank you all for stopping by and taking time to leave such kind comments!

  8. AHHHHH! I pretty much want them all. groovy papers . . .

  9. I love the way these look, all laid out together. Very pretty! It must give a great sense of accomplishment to see them all together.
